There are 12 total drug plans for 2026, with some companies offering more than one plan. (If Humana shows up as the top option for you, we can enroll you up until Nov 8).
Please review the following steps to search for a more cost effective solution for your 2026 prescriptions:
Step 1: Go to Medicare.gov If you are already logged into your MyMedicare.gov account, please double check your prescriptions, as they do not automatically change, you need to make any necessary adjustments. If you do not have your account up, simply go to Medicare.gov
Step 2: Locate 'Find Plans' in the top left corner of the page.
Step 3: 2026 is already populated, enter your zip code and choose your county, click 'continue',
Step 4: Click circle for 'Medicare drug plan (Part D)' and then 'find plans'.
Step 5: If you get help with your drug costs, follow the prompts otherwise click 'I don't get help from any of these programs' and 'continue'
Step 6: Click 'yes' to see the drug costs when you compare plans then 'Next'
Step 7: Begin to enter your first prescription. Review all options that populate below to ensure it matches the full name of your medication on your bottle. Click the option below that matches and choose 'add Drug'. Note: If a medication does not show up, it may be that Medicare does not cover that medication (i.e. some OTC medications or possible injections covered under your Part B instead) or please double check the exact name.
Step 8: It will auto populate a dosage/Quantity/Frequency, etc. Please use the drop down to choose the proper criteria for your prescription. Pay attention if it says capsule or tablet, etc. then 'Add to My Drug list'. Once you have added all of your prescriptions, choose 'Done adding drugs'
Step 9: At the bottom left of the screen you should see some pre-filled pharmacies in your area. Choose your preferred pharmacy by placing a checkmark next to the ones you would like to review. We suggest you check a few options in order to see the price difference per pharmacy and then click 'Done' on the bottom right. Note: If a pharmacy does not show, change the distance in order to expand your options. You do not have to be address- specific. Example: All Walgreens locations should reflect the same pricing.
Step 10: Medicare.gov has loaded 2026 Prescription plan options for you. There are 12 total plans, showing the top to be the most cost effective option based on the prescriptions you have entered. Pay attention to the TOTAL DRUG & PREMIUM COST (for 2025), this is the main dollar amount you will want to consider when comparing plans. This total includes all monthly plan premiums and the drug costs you will pay to the pharmacy when picking up your prescriptions. Deductibles typically apply when you are taking brand name or higher-tiered medications; therefore, depending on your prescriptions, you may or may not have to pay towards this deductible. Your TOTAL DRUG & PREMIUM COST will take into account any deductible IF you will need to meet that deductible.
Step 11: If you check 'Add to compare' next to Plan Details for a couple of plans, and then 'Compare' , you will see an overview of Total drug and premium cost by pharmacy, and more.
Step 12: You can now review those plan details and enroll (Enroll button will populate on October 15th). * If Humana shows up as the top option for you, we are able to complete the enrollment on your behalf up until 11/8/25, when they stop using Agents for enrollment.
*Once enrolled for 2026, your 2025 plan will automatically end at the end of the year.
*If your plan for 2025 is the same as your current plan, there is nothing you need to do, as it will just roll over for next year.
