Prescription Drug Plans (PDPS)

Unfortunately, I will not be selling Prescription Drug Plans (PDPS) during the 2025 Annual Enrollment Period from October 15th – December 7th due to negative consequences of the Biden-Harris “Inflation Reduction Act” regarding PDPS.

It is imperative that you watch this video to understand what is happening so you can make the best choices for 2025.

Video Overview:

In 2025, Medicare will undergo some of the most significant changes in a generation. Changes will include the following: a $2,000 limit on out-of-pocket Part D drug costs, an opt-in payment plan, changes to Medicare Advantage plans, and will require Insurance companies to pay a much larger percentage of prescription drugs cost.

This is going to be a chaotic enrollment period because nothing like this has ever happened in Medicare since the inception of Medicare Part D in 2006. If you have a PDP, it is imperative that you compare and shop your plan on the Medicare.gov website. There are many positives about the changes, but these changes have created a negative environment for insurance agents who help their clients with Medicare.

Here are some of the unintended negative consequences of the new legislation:

  • Higher Premiums on PDPS
  • Fewer plans to choose from
  • Medicare Advantage Plans will have reduced benefits and higher out of pocket cost.
  • Insurance companies may terminate your current Medicare Advantage Plan forcing you to select a new plan for 2025.
  • Many Insurance companies are no longer paying agents to help enroll their clients in PDPS
  • Fewer agents will help enroll clients in plans because of over regulation and no compensation

Come mid-October, I will follow up with more details on plans available for you in 2025.
